It has announced cancellation and diversion of some express trains from Mumbai due to incessant rain from early hours of Tuesday. Several trains running between Pune and Mumbai and passing through these stations were cancelled by Indian Railways.

According to the railways, two Pune-Mumbai trains, 22106 Indrayani Express, which leaves for Mumbai from Pune at 6.30 pm and 11008 Deccan Express, which leaves from Pune at 3.30 pm, were cancelled on Tuesday.

The disturbance will continue till Wednesday, said officials. On Wednesday, 22105 Mumbai-Pune Indrayani Express leaving Mumbai at 5.40 am which reaches Pune at 9.40 am as well as 11007 Deccan Express, which leaves Mumbai at 7 am and reaches Pune at 11.05 am, will remain cancelled.

Besides, 51317/18 Pune-Karjat-Pune passenger will be cancelled on Wednesday.

The cancellations have thrown travel plans of many passengers in disarray. Shruti Godbole, an IT professional staying in Kothrud, had to cancel her Mumbai trip on Tuesday owing to cancellation of trains. “I was planning to visit Mumbai to attend a conference there. I realised that Indrayani Express was cancelled only after reaching the station. I don’t feel comfortable travelling by bus,” she said.
