Pre-feasibility study of Hyperloop tech complete

The work on 15-km demonstration track of Pune-Mumbai route is expected to start soon as the State government and Hyperloop One, the company working on Hyperloop technology have already completed the pre-feasibility study. 

Pune: The work on 15-km demonstration track of Pune-Mumbai route is expected to start soon as the State government and Hyperloop One, the company working on Hyperloop technology have already completed the pre-feasibility study. 

Hyperloop is high-speed transport where a pod-like vehicle travels through a tube at a speed of around 670 mph. PMRDA Chief Kiran Gitte said that after the pre-feasibility study officials of Hyperloop One are working on the feasibility study of the Mumbai-Pune route. Once the feasibility study reports are submitted in August, the company will move towards making a demonstration track. 

The pre-feasibility study of Hyperloop on Mumbai-Pune route includes the study of the number of passengers using the route, the freight opportunities between the cities and the route study. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid a visit to one of the test sites of Virgin Hyperloop One in Las Vegas on Saturday. As per the company, with Hyperloop the journey between the cities will reduce in travel time to just 25 minutes from the current three hours.
