Mumbai: BJP MP Nana Patole countered Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil’s claim that 10 lakh bogus farmers have applied for loan waiver, terming the minister’s statement as atrocious.

Patole said, “What does it means? Farmers are bogus? How come it happens after your online system accepts farmers’ forms only after submitting 7/12 abstracts?”

Patole claimed that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had denied there were any such fake farmers. He said the CM “informed me that the process is still under scrutiny.”

Patole criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Fadnavis recently. He was in Mumbai on Wednesday and met Fadnavis over the issue of farmers and the OBCs.

After a meeting with the Chief Minister, he was talking with the media.

Patole said the online form is against farmers’ interest. “The government must rethink on it as there are problems. There is no proper structure for online form filling.”

“The Chief Minister is my best friend but he is doing wrong things, he has to rectify it. He needs to work for the state and for the people. But if there is a common man’s issue, I will not keep quiet,” he said.

“When I said PM Modi doesn’t like questions, media made news out of it. But when Nitin Gadkari spoke the same a few days back, nobody raised questions,” Patole said.
The BJP MP said that all political parties are in touch with him.
