Pune: For the first time ever, a Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH-CET) will be held for integrated courses of BA-B.Ed, BSc-B.Ed and B.Ed-M.ED for admissions in 2018-19, the Higher and Technical Education Department of the State government has stated.
The department has declared that the CET of B.Ed-M.Ed will be conducted on July 10.
As per provisions in section 2(e) and section 10(4) of the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act, 2015, the competent authority will be conducting CET for these courses for admissions to the four and three-year full time regular integrated courses for academic year 2018-19.
The results will be declared on July 18. The online registration for CET B.Ed-M.Ed started from May 18 and will continue till June 18. The hall tickets will be issued from June 28 onwards. Online registration for four-year integrated courses has started from May 11 and will be till June 11. Candidates can register and confirm their application forms on website www.dhepune.gov.in and www.mahacet.org/cetcell.
Earlier, the pre-requisite condition to pursue B.Ed course was to be a graduate. Now, students can opt to join the four-year integrated BA-B.Ed or BSc-B.Ed after Std XII. The revamped syllabus of these courses will be developed by National Council of Teachers Education (NCTE). It is likely that there can be limited seats for this admission, as only some colleges are offering the integrated courses.
