Pune: A new portal, which is related to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship Mudra scheme, is being developed by the Maharashtra government. It will be aimed at helping the youth from the State to understand the Mudra scheme and the facilities available under it and also the employment opportunities available in the State.
Cabinet Minister of Finance and Planning and Forests Department Sudhir Mungantiwar presided over a presentation of the website on Friday. The Mudra scheme is an ambitious scheme of the Central government, which aims to help boost and incentivise the industry by encouraging entrepreneurship and making it easier to avail finance.
While speaking to the media at the Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai, Mungantiwar sat through a presentation made about the structure and design of the website. He later addressed the media and officials about the website. Officials like Debashish Chakravarty, the Upper Secretary of the Planning Department and the office bearers of State bankers committee among others.
The web portal will be available in Marathi, Hindi and English. Mungantiwar said that the portal will be live from August 9. He also informed that the website will contain contact details of the district level members of the bankers’ committee, which can be used by the citizens to get information regarding the Mudra scheme. The website will also guide a user in filling up forms, the submission process, etc.
The website will also carry information about the employment opportunities in the State and availability of training and skill development facilities in the State. The minister also made many suggestions to be added to the website. One such suggestion was to add the data of employment opportunities in the State based on the survey conducted by the Central Skill Development Department, along with information regarding banks, available loan schemes and the entrepreneurship training programmes for potential youth entrepreneurs.
