Pune: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL) has Rs 235 crore dues in western Maharashtra from over 16 lakh consumers.
The MSEDCL has launched a drive to recover the overdue bills by disconcerting the power supply who haven’t paid the bills on time. The dues with the consumers from Maharashtra includes from Pune, 7.80 lakh consumers have not paid Rs 151,17,000, from Kolhapur 2.28 lakh consumers have not paid Rs 18,17,000, from Sangli 1.98 lakh consumers have not paid Rs 15,59,000, from Satara 2.12 lakh consumers have not paid Rs 15,57,000, and from Solapur, 2.63 lakh consumers have not paid Rs 27,61,000.
Regional Director of MSEDCL Sanjay Taksande said, “No electricity will be provided to the consumers if the dues are not cleared. And also strict action will be taken against consumers if they do not clear the dues.
And even if the consumers are not clearing the dues and using the electricity illegally, then strict against will be taken against them.”
