MPSC will fill 67 more posts this year

Pune: The state has sanctioned 67 out of 69 available posts for Maharashtra Public Service Commission. Therefore, in MPSC examination 2018, around 136 posts will be filled in 15 categories.  So far only 69 posts were filled in eight categories.

However, aspirants of MPSC said the approved seats are still less compared to the vacant seats in the state. About 20 lakh candidates have been preparing for MPSC exam in the state. At least five lakh of these candidates register for appearing in MPSC exams every year.

Candidates aspiring for MPSC have expressed disappointment and stated that they will start a protest on social media by making ‘#MPSC_STUDENTS_RIGHTS’ from Monday. They will also send mails to chief minister, chief secretary and additional chief secretary from 10 am to 12 pm and 5 pm to 7 pm. They will use the given hashtag and tweet about their protest, the candidates said.

“There are 40,000 vacancies in group A and B. Yet they conduct MPSC examination for a few posts only. Recently, the MPSC candidates demanded to increase the posts. All candidates were expecting that the State government will consider increasing the seats by at least 200 to 300. Hence, we will now raise our voices through social media and magnify the protest,” said Mahesh Bade, an MPSC aspirant.
