Mercury drops in city, State

Pune recorded a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 15.3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

PUNE: Day temperatures in the city as well as across the State are dropping, along with night temperatures touching as low as 12 degrees Celsius. Moreover, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) model has indicated the development of a super clone in the Bay of Bengal during the second week of November.

On Tuesday, in the State, the highest maximum temperature 35.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Mumbai while the lowest minimum temperature was recorded 12.5 degrees Celsius at Osmanabad.

Pune recorded a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 15.3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

Over the coming week, the temperature in the city during the day will vary between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius. The night temperature may drop up to 15 degrees Celsius.

Across the country, the IMD noted that, shallow to moderate fog, where visibility will be up to 500 metres has been recorded in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Assam and Meghalaya in the morning hours. Also, the northeast monsoon has been active over Tamil Nadu.

In the entire country, the lowest minimum temperature recorded was 11.5 degrees Celsius at Chhindwara in east Madhya Pradesh. The highest maximum temperature 38.4 degrees Celsius was recorded at Bhuj in Saurashtra and Kutch.
