Marathas to revive agitation?

Pune: The Maratha community is once again thinking of reviving its agitation, this time against  the government for its alleged failure of keeping promises those were made to Maratha Kranti Morcha delegation. To discuss the pending issues including prevention of misuse of Scheduled castes and Scheduled Tribes (prevention of atrocities) act 1989 which they claim is " Frequently Misused", a round table conference of all the stake holders has been called in Kolhapur to discuss the future course of action. 

Maharashtra State President of Maratha Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti , Sureshdada Patil informed about this conference in a press conference in Pimpri. Madhukarrao Patil, Aba Patil, Vilas Sawat, Maratha Youth President Ravindra Khot, Avinash Pawar, Chandrakant Bharat Shardul Jadhavar, Datta More and others were present. 

Patil said. In order to highlight these demands of the community to the government, 58 Maratha Kranti Morchas were organised in the state so far. During the winter session of state assembly in Nagpur on December 17', 18 Halla bol agitation were organised. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis discussed all the pending issues with delegation. He had given assurances at the time that he will call a meeting with the Maratha community and resolve all the issues. But he has not given time for the meeting so far. Therefore Maratha community has decided to revive its agitation."

Patil said, " All the schemes that government announced for Maratha community are not exclusively for Marathas. The government has put stringent condition for availing these schemes. It has tried to misled community Naming schems on Shivaji Maharaj, Sambhaji Maharaj, Rajaram Maharaj and Shahu Maharaj. But the scheme have not been beneficial to anyone." 

Demands:
1. Government must follow up Kopardi case on fast track till the logical end. 
2.Maratha reservation should be implemented before the academic year 2018.
3.District level and Taluka level committees must be established for prevention of the misuse of prevention of atrocities against Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes act. 
4. Rectification in the schemes announced for Maratha community required as in current form these schemes are not usefull for majority of the people.
