Thane: Lakhs of tribals from Thane, Palghar, Raigad and Nashik districts will celebrate this year's 'Gudi Padwa'(New year) on Sunday by taking out a protest to the state head quarters from Thane to press for their demands.
The Morcha will be taken out under the banner of the Shramajivi Sanghatana, an organization which has been working for the uplift of tribals in the state for more than thirty years.

Vice President of the Sanghatana, Aaradhya Pandit and working president Rambhau Varna said that the Sanghatana had taken several measures to highlights the woes of the tribals by organising morchas, demonstrations, protests, bandhs, meeting, without assurance we did not get anything, he alleged.
They said that finally this time around the morcha will be a 'Wailing Morcha' and will be a long march, which will start from Thane on Sunday and heads towards Mumbai state headquarters on the following day.
Some of the issues to be highlighted in the morcha include, the plight of the tribals students and the education system, health care facilities, long pending issues of land, employment etc, he added.
