Pune: Scams in various State universities over mismanagement of examination and delay in results, would now be a thing of the past with the help of technology as Maharashtra government has set up a university management software called Integrated University Management System (IUMS) which will keep a check on the entire process starting from admission, holding exams, declaring results to degree completion.
It will also ensure that students get rid of problems of delay in result declaration and other mismanagement of administrative works.
IUMS will be a single window, which will connect all State universities and give information of faculty, university officers, workers, details of institutions and other information related to students welfare, stated the resolution issued by State Higher and Technical Education Department. Similarly, the State has directed installation of IUMS Project Steering Committee (PSC) under guidance of the additional chief secretary of State Higher and Technical Education and Project Monitoring Committee (PMC) under the chief secretary.

The team should be headed by the principal or vice principal of colleges and include representatives from administration cell, IT cell, teachers and students.
Similarly, a core implementation team for all State public universities should be formed which will be headed by the registrar and comprise representatives from university departments, finance and accounts, establishment, administration, thesis, affiliation, IT cell, faculty appointment unit, admission, examination, two professor and two student representatives.
