IMD forecasts thunderstorms in Vidarbha, Central Maharashtra

Pune: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the southwest Monsoon has been vigorous over Central Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Telangana. However, it has been subdued over Gangetic West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Saurashtra and Kutch, Rayalaseema and south interior Karnataka. 

IMD has also forecast that thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds and lightning are likely over Vidarbha, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada on September 15.  

Between September 17 and September 18, heavy rainfall is forecast in Konkan and Goa region.

IMD has predicted that across the country, there will be no significant change in maximum and minimum temperatures during the next two days. Between September 19 and September 20, rainfall is expected at many places over northeast India, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. 

Also at a few places, rains are very likely over central and east India and at isolated places over rest Peninsular India. Weather likely to be dry over most parts of northwest India.
