Hailstorms in parts of State likely today: IMD

On Saturday, the city recorded minimum temperature of 13.5 degrees Celsius. IMD predicted that Pune will experience mainly clear skies till February 16 with minimum temperature touching 14 degrees Celsius.

PUNE: The city experienced cloudy weather on Saturday. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, thunderstorms accompanied by hailstorms is likely on February 11 and 12 in Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha and adjoining states.

On Saturday, the city recorded minimum temperature of 13.5 degrees Celsius. IMD predicted that Pune will experience mainly clear skies till February 16 with minimum temperature touching 14 degrees Celsius. 

On Saturday, the lowest minimum temperature in the State was recorded in Nashik at 11.7 degrees Celsius. According to IMD, on February 13, some places in Marathwada and Vidarbha may experience thunderstorms and rainfall. However, from February 14, Maharashtra along with Goa will experience dry weather.

The lowest minimum temperature recorded across the country was 0.1 degree Celsius at Pantnagar in Uttarakhand. Dense fog was observed in Ludhiana, Punjab. Shallow to moderate fog was observed in Cuttack, Odisha, and in north Delhi in the morning hours of Saturday.

Heavy rain or snowfall is likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. A thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds is likely at isolated places over Telangana, Jharkhand, interior Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu division and east Madhya Pradesh on February 12, said IMD.
