Fourth merit list of Std XI CAP out, 16,634 students allotted colleges

Pune: A total of 16,634 students were allotted colleges in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad for Std XI in the fourth round of admissions under online Centralised Admission Process (CAP).

Out of these, 6,013 students received the college that was first on their preference list, and it is mandatory for these students to take admissions, whether or not there is a fifth round of admissions.

While there were only four regular rounds of admissions, considering the low number of admissions till round three, there might be the fifth round. However, it has not yet been decided.

On day 1 of the admissions in the fourth regular round, 2,850 students have taken admissions at higher secondary schools and junior colleges in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

The students can take admissions at the college allotted to them till August 9, between 11 am and 6 pm. The colleges will be uploading the number of bifocal studies admissions done at college-level on August 10 and 11.

The students who were allotted the college of their first preference in the first three lists, but did not take admission were taken out of the system. They will now be considered for the remaining vacant seats after the fourth round of admissions.

While there are a total of 75,939 applicants in the system this year, a significantly low number of students have taken admissions till round 3, due to which there are around 40,000 students who are yet to take admissions. The fate of these students will be decided in the fourth round of admissions.
