Drama before premiere of Thackeray movie

Drama before premiere of Thackeray movie

Mumbai: Only a day before the release, the movie Thackeray was caught in a controversy, after a high voltage drama took place between the director and producer at the premier show on Wednesday night.

A war of words between Shiv Sena leader and producer of the film Sanjay Raut and MNS leader and director of the film Abhijit Panse took place at the premier, following which Panse walked out during the premiere of the film as he felt insulted.

The premier show of the movie was organised at Atria Mall, Worli on Wednesday evening.

According to witnesses, Panse had reached late for the premiere of the movie. However, instead of keeping seats reserved in the last row, Panse and his family were offered front row seats. Upset over the treatment, Panse walked out from the theatre without watching the movie. Raut tried to pacify Panse, but he did not listen and left the theatre.

After the incident, a video went viral on social media showing Panse arguing with Raut and walking out of the theatre. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers also started to troll Raut on social media.

MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande expressed solidarity with Panse. He posted on social media that he spoke to Panse and the director told him that he made the movie out of his love for Thackeray.

MNS started a campaign to support Panse on social media. Another party leader Avinash Jadhav has claimed in a tweet that ‘MNS chief’ had warned Panse that the Shiv Sena will behave like this with him. “They (Shiv Sena) will cheat you. First they used you for Aditya Thackeray and now for this movie,” he said.

Sanjay Raut also replied through Twitter and said, “When garbage is saturated in a small brain, they forgot control and gratefulness.”  Raut was trolled after this tweet. Several MNS followers have also reacted to the incident.
