Mumbai: Though the Shiv Sena is demanding that Shivaji Kardile, BJP MLA and accused in the Ahmednagar double murder case, should be ousted from the BJP, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday rejected the demand but agreed to withdraw all cases filed against the Shiv Sena
A day after the arrest of Kardile, the Sena ministers on Tuesday held a meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis demanding ouster of the MLA from the BJP.
“We met the Chief Minister with the demand to oust Kardile from the BJP. He is an accused in the murder of Sena activists and has no right to remain in his position. The CM should throw him out of the party and suspend him from being the MLA,” said Ramdas Kadam, Environment Minister.
Kadam, Subhash Desai, Transport Minister Diwakar Raote and Public Works Department Minister Eknath Shinde held a meeting with Fadnavis. The minister said the CM eard their demand but made no definite promises.
Though the CM accepted their demand to withdraw the criminal cases filed against the Shiv Sena activists for rioting at Ahmednagar.
Kadam complained that the police filed cases against 500 Shiv Sena activists, but only 20 supporters of Kardile who ransacked the police station.
On April 7, Sena leader Sanjay Kotkar and Vasant Thube were murdered in Ahmednagar after a by-poll in Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation. NCP MLA Sangram Jagtap, who is son-in-law of Kardile has already been arrested in this case.
