87 injured in collision of Shivshahi and ST bus

Alibag/Pune: A total of 87 passengers sustained injuries after Swargate-bound Shivshahi bus hit a State Transport (ST) bus while trying to overtake an autorickshaw at Karlekhind, about 10 km from Alibag, on Thursday.

Three persons including the ST bus driver sustained serious injuries. 

The Shivshahi bus was going from Murud to Swargate, while the ST bus was going from Panvel to Alibag.

At Karlekhind, the Shivshahi bus tried to overtake an auto rickshaw and collided with the ST bus coming from the opposite direction.

After this, the autorickshaw hit the Shivshahi bus from behind. A total of 87 persons travelling in the three vehicles, got injured.

The seriously injured persons were admitted to JJ Hospital, Mumbai.
