MUMBAI: Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray said that the Modi government is sleeping like ‘Kumbhakarna’ on the Ram temple issue. He further said that Shiv Sena will wake up the Central government from a ‘Kumbhakarna-like slumber’ and for that, Shiv Sena is going to organise a Maha Rally at Pandharpur on December 24.
Thackeray had also called a meeting of his party MLAs and other leaders at Shiv Sena Bhavan to discuss various issues regarding the upcoming election.
After the meeting, he spoke to the reporters. In the meeting, he announced the campaign ‘Kumbhakarna Jagaa Ho’ (Awake Kumbhakarna). “For the last 30 years, the Ram temple issue is pending and before every election, the issue will get a space on political agenda. After the elections, everyone forgets it. This government completed four and a half years in Centre with full majority, but they could not resolve the issue of the Ram temple. It means the government is in a Kumbhakarna’s slumber and they don’t want to wake up from it,” he said.
“Today’s Kumbhakarna has been sleeping for the past four years. Shiv Sena will awake them and this need of the time. Shiv Sena is going to organise a rally at Pandharpur, where we will blow the bugle to wake up the government,” he added.
“The government resolved other issues by bringing legislation, then why not bring an ordinance for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya,” he asked.
