Tata Motors launches its 4th product Tata Nexon in city

Pune: Targeting personal car buyers in the city, Tata Motors unveiled its fourth product based on the ‘Impact Design’ Philosophy - the Tata Nexon in Pune on Monday at an introductory price of Rs 5.87 lakh. The launch of Nexon marks the entry of the company into the growing Compact SUV segment.

The vehicle was launched by Vice President, Product Line, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, Mohan Savarkar and Zonal Head- Western Region, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, Ravi Misra.

Speaking at the event, Savarkar said, “Tata Motors has seen a 22 per cent growth in the last one year owing to the new product launches including Tiago, Hexa and Tigor. We have also focused on the expansion of the sales network by adding more sales outlets and employing more sales executives. Lastly, we have also focused on improving customer service experience. All these factors have contributed to our growth.”

Speaking about the new Nexon, he said that the car is targeted specifically towards the young and personal use buyers. “With its unique styling and appreciated feature set, the Nexon is a perfect car for urban, young customers. It is a sporty SUV with extremely contemporary styling engineered to deliver excellence with dynamic handling, sporty performance, smart connectivity and comfort along with advanced safety features,” he said.

According to him, the car is the Level Nex SUV with Level Nex Design, Performance, Comfort and Technology.

“The Nexon boasts of a coupe inspired aerodynamic shape, white ivory accents and sonic silver dual tone roof colour. The car has projector headlamps for high-intensity road illumination, smart key and push start button, automatic climate control, sculpted seats with a spacious cabin, dual path suspension and electric power steering with phone and media controls,” he said.  Adding about the performance and technology, Savarkar said, “The Nexon has a 1.2 litre turbocharged engine from the Revotron series and 1.5 litre diesel engine from the Revotorq series. It has a first in segment multi-drive mode with six-speed manual transmission and class-leading ground clearance of 209 mm. Apart from that, the car features Connectnext Infotainment System by HarmanTM with an eight-speaker system and absolute safety for the
occupant.”
