Maruti Suzuki to launch all-new Swift at Auto Expo

Pune: After having dominated the compact hatchback segment for over 12 years since 2005, the iconic all-new Maruti Suzuki Swift is all set to debut at Auto Expo 2018 which is scheduled to take place in the national capital region from February  7-14.

Though officially yet to be launched, Maruti Suzuki India, the largest carmaker in India on Thursday opened bookings for the car that is based on Suzuki’s 5th generation HEARTECT platform.

This platform gets more strength and rigidity and helps to improve the power to weight ratio, leading to better acceleration performance for a peppy and fun to drive experience. The new car is wider, compact and with longer wheel base allowing more cabin space, headroom as well as luggage space.

It will be available with the trusted K12 VVT engine and DDiS 190 engine in petrol and diesel options respectively. 

Swift, which continues to feature among the top five best selling cars in India for over a decade, will now come with a brand new 
design. 

“We will take the excitement to a new height. With its distinctive design, advanced technology, uplifting performance and enduring driver experience will intend to bring disruption in the premium hatchback segment. In its newest avatar, the car undergoes a bold transformation to meet the aspiration of young and ever changing customer,” RS Kalsi, Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) at Maruti Suzuki India, said here on Thursday.

With the launch, the company will look forward to strengthen its position in the small car segment which has been witnessing rapid growth. 

Bookings Open
Those interested can pre-book the car at any of the 2,300 Maruti Suzuki showrooms across India with an initial payment of Rs 11,000.
