India, Canada ink agreement to support startups

The programme will be rolled out in India in partnership with private accelerator Zone Startups India which will identify 40 startups that can be eligible for the scheme.

Delhi: India and Canada have signed an agreement to provide market access for startups from both countries. The programme will focus on women entrepreneurs.

Under the programme, the Department of Science and Technology and Canada's Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development will accelerate innovation value chain and technology commercialisation.

Both the governments will guide and support potential startups to grow over the next two years.

The programme will be rolled out in India in partnership with private accelerator Zone Startups India which will identify 40 startups that can be eligible for the scheme.

Zone Startups India will be looking for B2B and enterprise startups which are at an early stage but are ready for international launch, according to its director, Ajay Ramasubramaniam.
