After signing Vishal Bharadwaj’s comedy-drama Chhuriyaan, Sunil Grover has now signed Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat. The actor-comedian, who was last seen on the big screen in Baaghi, will now be seen playing a pivotal role alongside Salman Khan in the 2019 release.
According to sources, Sunil will be seen as part of Salman’s journey from 30 to 65 years. Welcoming Sunil on board, Ali says, “I am very excited to welcome Sunil Grover to the Bharat family. Sunil is one of the most loved names in the television industry, he has an immense fan following owing to his commendable work. Bharat has him playing a very pivotal part and he, along with Salman Khan, is sure to create magic on screen.”
The film was recently in headlines after the makers announced that Priyanka Chopra, currently busy with her Hollywood assignments, has signed the film. There’s a lot excitement among fans to see Salman and Priyanka back together on screen.
Bharat is an official adaptation of 2014 South Korean film, Ode to My Father which depicted modern Korean history from the 1950s to the present day through the life of an ordinary man and events such as the Hungnam Evacuation during the 1950 Korean War, the government’s decision to dispatch nurses and miners to West Germany in the ’60s and the Vietnam War. The film is set to have a character-driven story spanning across many periods. Bharat will be shot across locations in Abu Dhabi and Spain, besides Punjab and Delhi in India.
It will be produced by Atul Agnihotri’s Reel Life Production Pvt Ltd and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.
