Sudesh Berry makes Marathi film debut
The actor, along with Siddharth Jadhav, stars in Pritam SK Patil’s Kichik, which will release this year
After working in Hindi films and television shows, veteran actor Sudesh Berry is soon making his Marathi film debut. The actor has shot for Pritam SK Patil’s Kichik, which the actors calls ‘an extended cameo’ and says that he liked the story and character he is playing. “I play the character of a road-side idli seller. He also takes care and guides the children of that locality. He is settled in Pune,” he says.
The reason he chose to do the film is absolutely personal. “When I sign any film, I do not ask anyone, I just ask myself. If I like the script and story, I sign the film. I am an intuitive person. I have never worked for money,” says the actor who is known for movies like Vansh, Border, Tango Charlie, Veergati, LOC Kargil, Refugee and many more. He says that what matters the most while doing a film is the people he is collaborating with. “If the atmosphere and people are good, you can do great work,” he adds.
Kichik also stars Siddharth Jadhav and Prathamesh Parabh.
Sudesh says that the language wasn’t a problem because he had studied Marathi in school. “I can manage with Marathi and I can somewhat read and write. If I get more interesting projects in the future, I will do more Marathi films,” says the actor who is seen in the TV show Shakti — Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki.
His son Suraj Berry was to be launched in a movie titled The Little Godfather, which was to be jointly produced by Ekta Kapoor and Suniel Shetty. But the film was put on the backburner after differences cropped up between the producers.
There are reports about the actor launching his son but Sudesh refuses to comment on whether he is producing the film or not. “His debut film is in scripting stage and once the project is ready, we will make an official announcement. Let’s hope for the best,” he says.
