Simple and ethnic
Fashion designer Ashley Rebello talks about Salman Khan’s Eid outfit that he has designed and also shares a few fashion tips for men
It’s a known fact that ace fashion designer Ashley Rebello is Salman Khan’s favourite designer. From designing his clothes in his films
(Ek Tha Tiger, Kick), Bigg Boss and for special occasions, the actor flaunts Ashley’s designs. No wonder then that the designer has an outfit for Salman, which he is going to wear on Eid today. Ashley has ensured that the actor has a stunning outfit for this extra special evening, where he is hosting friends for an Eid bash, and has therefore created an all-white traditional ensemble.
Speaking about the outfit, Ashley revealed, “Salman likes his clothes to be simple and without any fuss. So, this year for his Eid ensemble I have used Chikankari work for his pathani. The outfit will not only be stylish but also extremely comfortable, just the way he prefers.” He adds, “It was more about Salman’s personality and his love for wearing Indian clothes in the form of a pathani.”
Go for Indian designs
When it comes to Eid, most men opt for ethnic wear like pathani, sherwani, kurta, Nehru jackets etc. “When they go for namaaz, they opt for ethnic wear. There is no denying that Eid is about wearing Indian clothes and why shouldn’t we wear one? Festivals are all about dressing up and feeling good. So a festival like this calls for wearing Indian clothes,” he says.
Try fusion too
With fusion being the in-thing, the designer says that one can play around with different styles and designs. Sharing a few tips, he says, “Go for a nice kurta with a great pair of jeans and shoes. Or opt for straight pants. You can also combine real short kurta with pencil cigarette pants, churidar with knee-length kurta and a nice waist length coat will give a Indo-Western look. Sometimes wearing a cufflink gives a different twist too.”
The designer says that for a friend of his, he has designed an emerald jean pathani and for another, a tuxedo-style long shirt with a lot of pleats and combined it with a salwar.
Browse through online shopping portals or your popular shopping market and one would find different shades of outfits on sale for this festival. Sharing some colours that one can follow, Ashley says, “People can go for white which looks really lovely in the morning. In the evening, because pastel shades are in, they can wear a baby pink kurta with grey salwar, all black or white looks classic or chocolate brown in printed salwar will look smart. In addition to this, blues or greens are also in.”
