Shiamak celebrates the spirit of Independence Day

Hands in the air and inhibitions lost somewhere! An integral part of public transport and back bone of the Mumbai's daily commuters, Mumbai’s Auto Rickshaw and the Taximen Union swayed to the popular Marathi number of Zingaat as Shiamak Davar’s top instructors lead the feet tapping session. In the spirit of 71st Independence Day, ace Choreographer Shiamak came along with Mumbai’s Auto Rickshaw and the Taxi Men Union and celebrated the ‘Freedom of Expression’ through dance.

Shiamak associated with our very own Rickshawale brothers, wherein his top instructors choreographed them. This initiative was mainly taken to appreciate the Rickshawale who relentlessly serve the sleepless streets of Mumbai.  This first-of-its-kind collaboration is intended to spread the message that ‘freedom and equality are for all’ and these unsung heroes deserve it as much as anyone else.

Sharing his experience Shiamak said “The most important form of freedom is the having the ability to follow your dreams and share your passion with others. In our country, dance is an expression of celebration. So, this Independence Day we decided to keep a dance workshop for our auto rickshaw drivers who tirelessly serve for us. To see the joy on their face as they were dancing was truly inspiring! Happy Independence Day to all”

Besides, sharing the happiness here at home, Shiamak is now taking the spirit of Independence all the way to Singapore. Shiamak along with his troop is all set to perform at the finale of a week-long celebration of India Emergence in Singapore and will be sharing the stage with Spiritual Master Sadguru. Giving his very special touch, Shiamak is making a difference to lot lives.

Expressing his happiness on taking the spirit of Independence Day to Singapore, Shiamak says, “Honoured to be invited at the #GlobalCitizen Forum in Singapore to celebrate 70 years of India's independence. Overwhelmed by the fantastic response by the audience. Had the privilege of meeting and interacting with Sadhguru at the forum. Truly inspiring.”
