Shahid in ‘Toilet...’ director’s next

Actor Shahid Kapoor who is shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati, will now play the lead in director Shree Narayan Singh’s next, under the KriArj Entertainment banner. As Singh’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha crossed the 100 crore mark at the box office, there has been lot of speculation on the filmmaker’s next movie. It has now been confirmed that Shahid has been roped in for the film that addresses the issue of astronomical electricity bills that the common man gets.

As Singh’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha crossed the 100 crore mark at the box office, there has been lot of speculation on the filmmaker’s next movie. It has now been confirmed that Shahid has been roped in for the film that addresses the issue of astronomical electricity bills that the common man gets.

This collaboration is the most interesting one in the recent times, say sources. “With Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment backing strong content with pan-India appeal, director Shree Narayan Singh coming fresh off with the success of Toilet... and Shahid Kapoor on a high with his riveting performance in Udta Punjab, it’s going to an interesting project,” says a source.

Says producer Prernaa Arora, “There is no doubt that Shahid is one of the finest talents we have today. We at KriArj are very excited to have him headline this film. We are confident that the subject will strike a chord with the audiences across the country.”

Adds director Shree Narayan Singh, “Shahid, in recent times has been choosing subjects that not only push the envelope in terms of his range as an actor but also offer something completely new to audiences. I look forward to working with him. Someone with his talent and versatility will definitely do justice to the role.”
