Richa meets local kabaddi players across India to prep for her role in ‘Panga’

Actress Richa Chadha will soon start shooting the second leg of Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s Panga, based on Indian sport kabaddi. The film also stars Kangana Ranaut. Both the leading ladies of the film will be seen donning the character of kabaddi players that require them to hone their skills.

According to sources, Richa started researching on the game as soon as second leg of shooting was announced. “To get into the skin of character, she is meeting real kabaddi players to get tips from their past experiences. Every state has its own talent of the game, the rules remain the same, only the style of the game differs from state to state. Richa is meeting players from Chandigarh, Ranchi and Patna as she will be travelling to these places for personal and professional work,” said a source.

Speaking about it, Richa said, “I have been training in Mumbai with a few players and coaches. However, I also travelled to a lot of places like Raipur, Ranchi and met these local players, which was extremely helpful. These guys have an amazing insight and experience to know the sport which helped while prepping for the role. I travelled to these places for personal work and I happened to find ways to meet women kabbadi players, spent time with them and spoke to them to know more about the sport.”
