Aashay Sanskrutik will screen a documentary titled Ya sama ha, based on the renowned humorist P. L. Deshpande at Balgandharva Rangmandir on June 12.
The screening, which will take place at 5.30 pm, is part of a series of programmes planned across 30 cities around the country and the world as Pu La’s birth centenary year will be celebrated from November 8, 2018-November 8, 2019, shared Virendra Chitrav of Ashay Sanskrutik at a press conference on Thursday.
The documentary has been directed by Sudhir Moghe and Mukta Rajadhyaksha, and Debu Deodhar has done the cinematography.
A seminar illustrating the multi-faceted personality of Pu La has also been planned. At the seminar, music director Salil Kulkarni, actor Madhav Vaze, Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad’s Milind Joshi and social activist Anil Awachat will speak about Pu La’s contribution to music, theatre, literature and social initiatives.
Noted author Da Ma Mirasdar will chair the seminar and speak on Pu La as a humorist. Parchure Prakashan will release a book titled Kasa Mee Asa Mee comprising Pu La’s speeches and published articles. The book will be released by Mayor Mukta Tilak.
