Not just star kids but these star siblings too have been drawing a lot of attention for making their acting debut in Bollywood. As their elder siblings have already made a mark for themselves in the film industry, there are a lot of expectations from them. Fans are waiting to see if they have the same spark and potential. When Kareena Kapoor Khan made her debut with Refugee, she was compared to her elder sister Karisma. Soha Ali Khan and Tanishaa Mukerji too had to cope with such pressure.
Here’s a list of siblings who recently made their debut or will be seen soon:
Neha Sharma’s younger sister Aisha is all set to make her debut opposite John Abraham in SMJ, to be directed by Milap Zaveri. The thriller is being produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Nikkhil Advani’s Emmay Entertainment. The film went on floors last month. Aisha shot to fame with the Kingfisher calendar and has created a niche for herself in the modelling world. The actress has been prepping up for her role by attending different workshops.
Excited about her debut, she says, “I could not have asked for a better film in terms of a launch. To be able to share the frame with John Abraham as well as Manoj Bajpayee, is a huge honour and challenging for me. I hope I can do justice to the role that Milap sir has written for me and I am certain that both Nikkhil sir as well as T-Series will position me in the best way possible.”
Katrina Kaif’s younger sister Isabelle is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Stanley D’Costa’s dance film Time To Dance and has been paired opposite Sooraj Pancholi. The actress has previously worked in an international film titled Dr Cabbie, which was co-produced by Salman Khan. After a long wait, the actress will be making her Bollywood debut.
Isabelle says that Time To Dance is a Latin ballroom dance film and she didn’t have much experience in the dance form, so she had to undergo a lot of training. “But I am thrilled to be doing something new. There are a lot of new things — it’s my first film and it involves many new dance forms. But I love acting and art in all its forms, so it’s great,” she says.
Isabelle feels at home when at work as she has spent most of her childhood on the sets of Katrina’s films. “I remember doing my homework on the sets of Partner (2007) and prepping for my exams during weekends on the sets of Namastey London (2007),” she adds.
Athiya’s brother and Suniel Shetty’s teenager son is also being launched by Sajid Nadiadwala in a romantic action-drama. There were reports about the would-be-actor signing a four-film deal with Sajid’s production house. Soon after he was signed by Sajid, Karan Johar tweeted, “In full on training mode....a star in the waiting..... INTRODUCING #AHANSHETTY ...congratulations to Sajid Nadiadwala...@SunielVShetty.”
His elder sister Athiya was last seen in Anees Bazmee’s multi-starrer film Mubarakan.
Looks like Ahaan is all equipped to make it big. He has attended workshops all over Europe and the US, and recently finished a course in dramatics in London.
Shahid Kapoor’s half-brother Ishaan Khatter made his Bollywood debut with Majid Majidi’s Beyond the Clouds, which released last month. Not many know that he was part of Shahid’s s 2005 film Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi! Even before his first film released, Ishaan had finished shooting for his second film Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak opposite Janhvi Kapoor. Critics who have watched Ishaan’s Beyond the Clouds can’t stop praising his acting skills. The film has also made to several international film festivals including 61st London International Film Festival, 22nd Busan International Film Festival, 14th Dubai International Film Festival and others. International media too has some encouraging words to share about the actor.
Kriti Sanon is still trying to carve her niche in Bollywood and there’s already news about her younger sister Nupur making her debut.
Reports suggest that Nupur will be launched by producer Sajid Nadiadwala, who had earlier launched Kriti too. There were rumours that Kriti’s rumoured boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput had even recommended her for Fault In Our Stars’ remake. But Mukesh Chhabra, who’s making his directorial debut with the remake, soon rubbished the rumours. The would-be actress is quite popular on social media. During a media interaction, Kriti said that Nupur wants to make it on her own. “When I look back, I am proud of my journey, and I am glad that she wants to do it her way.”
