The filmmaker is all set to make his next directorial venture with John Abraham in the lead. After directing the much-acclaimed D-Day and POW: Bandhi Yuddh Ke and producing Airlift, Nikkhil Advani is set to tell the story of the encounter at L-18 Batla House, Delhi which happened in September 2008. “It was one of the most talked-about police operations of recent times,” says a source.
Those who do not remember, on September 19, 2008, the Delhi police received a tip-off on the location of alleged Indian Mujahideen (IM) members from the Gujarat police. On the basis of cell phone data, the police found that the members were hiding at flat number 108, L-18, Batla House, Jamia Nagar, a crowded Muslim populated neighbourhood in South Delhi. In the encounter, two residents and the police heading the operation was killed.
Nikkhil last directed John in Salaam-E-Ishq. He is producing Satyameva Jayate starring John and Manoj Bajpayee which is releasing on August 15, 2018. “Batla House will go on floors this September and will be shot in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Nepal. The film will be produced by Emmay Entertainment and Motion Pictures LLP in association with Bake My Cake Films,” adds the source.
