Nawazuddin signs third film with Woodpecker Movies

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has signed his third project with producer Rajesh Bhatia and Kiran Bhatia production house Woodpecker Movies. The actor will be seen in a project titled Dusty to meet Rusty, which is helmed by Glen Barretto. The shoot starts post rains in August 2019 in a start to finish schedule.

The film is a beautiful road trip of a girl and her journey from Mumbai to Dharamshala who goes in search of her childhood sweetheart but only to find love on her way.

“The prep for Dusty to meet Rusty has started and another A-list hero as a parallel male lead and A-list actress are on verge of finalising for which their dates are being worked out,” says a source. 

“When Nawazji heard the narration, he loved the script of Dusty to meet Rusty instantly. It’s an honour to work with talent like Nawazji who brings great value to the script with his nuances and outstanding performances. We are on verge of finalising two more A listers and working the dates out,” says Kiran Bhatia, producer and content head, Woodpecker Movies.

Producer Rajesh Bhatia says, “We look forward to our third endeavour with Nawaz bhai. It’s always a pleasure to work with him as he gets lots of creative inputs to the table and takes the script to another level with his performance.”

The actor has also bagged another international project titled No Land’s Man.  Reportedly, Nawaz is set to star in and co-produce Bangladeshi filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s No Land’s Man which is a predominantly English-language film revolving around a tragic, strange, and at times funny journey of a South Asian man whose journey takes layered and complicated shape when he meets an Australian girl in the States.

Bangladeshi actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha and Farooki will co-produce via their Chabial outfit, alongside Anjan  Chowdhury of the Bangladeshi conglomerate the Square Group. Siddiqui will produce through his Magic If Films.

The film, No Land’s Man won the Motion Picture Association of America and Asia Pacific Screen Awards’ Script Development fund in 2014; was part of the Asian Project Market at Busan; and was chosen as the best project at India’s Film Bazaar the same year. The film is in pre-production stage  currently and principal photography will commence later this year.
