Nawaz collaborates with Qyuki Creator and UnErase Poetry

In an attempt to shed light on the current socio-political situation, Qyuki Creator (a cross platform media network) and UnErase Poetry (a movement to promote and produce spoken word poetry) have associated with Manto, the film, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

It’s not the first time that UnErase Poetry has taken the initiative to bring out the issue in the open and highlighted its effects on the society. But with their latest offering, Mere Kavi Dost they foreground the threat to the liberty of speech in our country. “The poem raises an urgency for writers and artists to write about the current happenings and take a stand against it. It also touches upon various sensitive topics like farmer suicides, violence against women and the threat to free press,” said a statement.

Sharing their view on this collaboration, UnErase Poetry, says, “Mere Kavi Dost might be the most relevant poem on the internet for our nation. It’s a plea to all writers and poets and artists to pick up their pens and brushes and diaries and protest, right in the middle of the roads. We, at UnErase, are glad to have collaborated with Manto and Nawaz on this poem and stand up for what’s right.”

Adds Sagar Gokhale, COO at Qyuki, “We at Qyuki have always encouraged and supported change and we are glad to be associated with UnErase Poetry who puts the message out through a form as beautiful as poetry. Our constant effort has been to nurture and support talent that can influence a change in society and with a stellar performer like Nawazuddin Siddiqui on their side, the message surely will be conveyed.”
