Kangana and Anurag reunite for 'Imali'

It was filmmaker Anurag Basu who introduced Kangana Ranaut to Bollywood. The actress made her debut with crime drama Gangster in 2006, directed by the filmmaker. Though in her teens, the actress made an instant impression and bagged some of the year’s coveted awards. The two later collaborated in 2010 in Hrithik Roshan-starred Kites.

According to sources, after eight years the actress is going to reunite with Anurag for an urban love story titled Imali. Apparently, Kangana will start working on Imali after she wraps up Ashwini Iyer’s Kabaddi drama which is set to release in October, for which she has already started attending advanced yoga lessons and training with national level Kabaddi players.

“The prep for Imali is expected to begin by August but the film should roll only towards the year-end. The search for the male lead is on,” informs the source.

When asked about being reunited with the Barfi! director, Kangana said, “It’s too early to talk about Imali as we are starting the film around end of this year. All I can say is that Anurag is my godfather and everything I am today is because of him. I can’t wait to go back to the beginning.”

The actress has some interesting projects in the pipeline. While she has finished shooting for the magnum opus Manikarnika; she is currently busy filming Mental Hai Kya in London along with Rajkummar Rao.
