It all begins with the writer, says Aamir Khan

Sharing his thoughts on what he seeks from budding scriptwriters, Aamir Khan, who is one of the jurors of Cinestaan India’s Storytellers Script Contest, says, “When I sign a film, I first look at the story or the script. We are looking at somebody with an imagination and a different story or scenario that we come across, where the characters have been well written, the premise and goal is clear and where the whole journey of the story is highly entertaining and engaging. That’s what we look for in a good script. Actors and technicians are all a part of the film but it all begins with the writer. The writer is the origin and the most important aspect of the making of a film.”

Aamir learnt about the importance of the script, the director and the producer at a very early stage in his film career. On being invited to be a part of the Cinestaan India’s Storytellers Script Contest, he said that it is a good attempt which must be supported.

Post the success of the first edition of the contest which began last year, the second edition of the script contest has already kickstarted with entries continuously pouring in.

Cinestaan India’s Storytellers Script Contest, which was launched by Cinestaan Digital Pvt Ltd, is one of India’s biggest script contests to date. The winners of the contest with the best script shall be awarded a prize of Rs 25 lakh. The total cash prize for this contest will be Rs 50 lakh.

Some of the best scripts shall be curated to be a part of the Cinestaan Script Bank — a treasure trove that Studios and Production Houses can delve into and then directly liaise with the writers, who often find it difficult to get their voice across.
