Introducing...

Last year, Jhanvi Kapoor (daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor) and Ishaan Khatter (son of Neelima Azim and Rajesh Khatter) made their debut with Dhadak, while Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Ali Khan played the leading lady in Simbaa. This year, not one but several star kids are set to appear on the screen.

Just last week, the trailer of Blank starring Karan Kapadia, nephew of Dimple Kapadia, released. The thriller is already getting quite an eyeball. Karan’s brother-in-law Akshay Kumar also shot a special song for the film. Before that, Mohnish Bahl’s daughter Pranutan featured in Notebook. The film couldn’t do much magic at the box-office but the actress was praised for her screen presence.

Bhagyashree’s son Abhimanyu Dasani’s Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota released in March. The film was critically appreciated at several film festivals including Toronto.

Many of these upcoming actors are already instagram stars and have millions of followers. Let’s look at a few of them...

Karan Deol
Sunny Deol’s elder son Karan will make his debut with Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. The film is being directed by Sunny and also stars newbie Sahher Bammba. The makers released the first look poster of the romantic comedy on February 14, 2019. Alongwith the poster, Sunny also posted on social media, “As a father, I am nervous and at the same time I am proud to present my son’s first poster. Today @imkarandeol begins his cinematic journey, wishing him love, luck and success. Presenting to you #PalPalDilKePaas starring Karan Deol and @sahherbambba @aapkadharam #ShariqPatel @zeestudiosofficial #SunnySoundsPrivateLtd.””

Before becoming an actor, Karan, who has got the same innocent look as his father, has worked as an assistant director in Yamla Paga Deewana 2.

For him, it won’t be an easy job to carry forward the legacy of his grandfather Dharmendra who was the leading man in Hindi cinema for several decades and his father, who is remembered for his action-packed films.

Ananya Panday
Chunkey Pandey’s daughter Ananya will make her foray into filmdom with Karan Johar’s production Student of the Year 2. The film is a sequel to 2012 hit Student of the Year. Releasing next month, it also stars Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria.

Early this week, Karan and the cast shared new posters of the film and we couldn’t stop praising Ananya’s look in it. She also appeared on Koffee With Karan with her SOTY2 co-stars and made headlines with some of her statements. When Karan said, there might be a certain section that would ask why she is on the show, the star kid innocently replied, “I agree with that section of the people because I haven’’t done anything. I don’t deserve to be here.””

Even before her debut film has released, Ananya has started working on her second project — Pati Patni Aur Woh — opposite Kartik Aryan and Bhumi Pednekar. The film is again a sequel to the 1978 hit film by the same name which starred Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta.

Ahan Shetty
His daughter Athiya entered the industry in 2015 with Hero and this year, Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan will follow suit. Sajid Nadiadwala is launching the budding actor with the remake of Telugu hit RX 100. In a statement, Sajid had said, “I have acquired the remake rights of RX 100 and it will be Ahan’s launch vehicle. The movie will release in May 2019. We chose the drama because it has gained a cult status among the youth. I know of youngsters who have watched the movie 10 times.”” Sajid had also launched Suniel with Waqt Hamara Hai almost two decades back.

As for Ahan, he has been preparing for the big screen for a couple of years now.

Alizeh Agnihotri
Salman Khan’s niece Alizeh Agnihotri, will be reportedly launched with Dabbang 3, though the makers haven’t made an official announcement. The young girl recently took the internet by storm with her stunning images from a bridal photoshoot for designer Seema Khan. Alizeh, the daughter of Alvira Khan and Atul Agnihotri, seems to have a lot of promise.

Vardhan Puri
Amrish Puri will always be remembered as one of Bollywood’s best bad men. Now his grandson Vardhan Puri is making an entry through Paagal, releasing later this year. Though not much is known about the project, in an interview, the debutant had said that he wanted to be an actor since he was five-years-old.

He’s also been an assistant director to filmmakers like Habib Faisal and Maneesh Sharma. Going by his Instagram account, he is not just a looker but a family man too. He has shared several photos of his siblings and family on the site.

Khushi Kapoor
Her elder sister Jhanvi Kapoor was welcomed by the industry last year in Dhadak and there is already a huge buzz about Khushi too getting into acting. Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s younger daughter is turning heads, not just with her photos online, but even at social dos. There is a strong buzz that Karan Johar will launch Khushi though the maker is yet to give an official statement to this effect.

Anmol Thakaria Dhillon
Yesteryear actress Poonam Dhillon’s son Anmol is playing the lead in a project which will be backed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It’s being reported that the project is titled Tuesdays and Saturdays and is said to be a rom-com. The film will be directed by Taranveer Singh and former Miss India International Jhataleka Malhotra is being cast opposite him. We have to wait and watch till an official announcement is made on this though.

Alaia Furniturewala
Even before her Bollywood debut, Pooja Bedi’s daughter and Kabir Bedi’s grand-daughter Alaia is a big star on Instagram. Her stunning pictures get millions of likes and comments. As for her first film, it is being reported that Aalia will be seen in Saif Ali Khan-starrer Jawani Janeman. The actress is reportedly playing the role of Saif’s daughter in the Nitin Kakkar-helmed family drama. The movie will also be produced by Saif under his new banner Black Knight Films. The movie, set to go on floors in London next year, is a comedy, centred on a father-daughter relationship.
