It is well established by now that Tiger Shroff is a Michael Jackson fan. The actor on various occasions has shared that he worships the veteran singer. So, when Tiger got a chance to pay tribute to MJ on his death anniversary, he visited Pune on Sunday along with Nidhhi Agerwal and showed some of MJ’s iconic dance moves.

Tiger also shows some MJ moves in his upcoming film Munna Michael. When we caught up with him in Pune, he said that his earliest memory of MJ was a cassette of the song Thriller. “It was a music video in a short film format and I was amazed with it. The man could do everything, he could sing, dance. But my favourite song still remains Human Nature,” he said.

He added that as a child, he would lock himself in his room and try practising the MJ moves. “I never danced in front of others because I was a shy kid. But inside my room, I would practise little acts and be happy. Later, I would behave as if I was studying. I started doing actual dance just before Heropanti,” he said.

In Munna Michael, Tiger shares screen space with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and debutante Nidhhi in the dance-action film. He said that dance is the major theme in the film. “It’s about a boy named Munna (played by me) who is sort of a street con and a talented dancer. But he doesn’t have any aim nor can he channelise his talent in the right direction. Then he meets Nawaz ji who asks him to teach him to dance. That’s when he meets Nidhhi, the girl Nawaz ji loves and therefore wants to learn dancing for her,” he said, adding that it’s Nidhhi’s character who makes him realise his dreams and channelise his talent. “I fall in love with her further after listening to her dreams. She wants to achieve big things in life and I help her do that,” he said.

Nawazuddin, who is known for his acting skills, has only danced in Freaky Ali. His fans are now waiting to see him dance in Munna Michael. Tiger said that he too was surprised with Nawazuddin’s dancing skills. “I had never imagined in my wildest dreams that Nawazji could do something like this because he plays such intense characters. It was a treat for all of us to watch him on the sets,” Tiger shares. Speaking of the choreography, he says, “Ganesh Acharya and Sabbir Khan, our director, had designed the choreography keeping in mind his character,” he said.

Munna Michael is Tiger’s third film with Sabbir Khan and the actor says that their relationship has evolved with each film. “We have become more comfortable. On the sets, it’s very professional because he is the boss. This time he had to direct me less because I am more aware as an actor than I was two years ago, which made his life easier,” he smiles.
“I am just trying to give the audience more and in a better manner. I don’t want to show them something they have already seen,” said the actor, accepting that expectations of seeing him perform daredevil stunts puts pressure on his body. “But at the end of the day, we are all performers and we want to get better too. It’s better for us as it makes us work harder. I love doing it.”

The actor will be seen in another action packed film Rambo, which is the Hindi adaption of Sylvester Stallone’s hit franchise. The film has already gained a lot of attention from the veteran actor and international media. But Tiger isn’t too stressed about the film. “That’s because there’s a while until I do that film. After Munna, I have Baaghi 2, Student of the Year 2 and then I start working on the Rambo remake. I am just happy that the first look was accepted graciously by the international media and the media here,” he said, adding, “I have always taken one film at a time. One film is like end of the world and I don’t think beyond that, so I feel so thankful that I am getting the chance to be part of such big projects.”
