'I am a seeker'

'I am a seeker'

Supriya Pilgaonkar will play a cameo in Sony TV's popular show Mera Sai. The actress, who is shooting for the show, says that it's a week-long role but an interesting one. Being part of the show was a personal wish for Supriya, which came true.

“I have been following the show regularly since the beginning. The more I watched the show, I more I got know about Sai Baba's life and teachings. I wished to be part of it and experience the feeling of being on the set. Recently, when I had met the producer, I had expressed my desire to work on the show and they soon came back to me with the role,” she says, adding “I knew that once I start shooting, things will be practical,” she says.

Supriya will play the role of Suhasini, whose entry happens in Shirdi. “She is a kind of person who keeps some kind of intention in her mind while praying to God. She always negotiates with the almighty while praying. When her wishes are not fulfilled, she stops praying and there is lot of bitterness in her mind because of that. That's when she meets Sai Baba and he changes her thoughts and life,” says the actress.

She says that though she has never been to Shirdi, her family has a deep connection with Sai Baba. “I have been told by my father that my grandmother (father's mother), use to stay near Shirdi as a child. Sai Baba had blessed her in person and all through her life, she had some connection or the other with Sai Baba. Because of this, many members of my family follow the teachings of the 'great sant',” she says.

More than devotee, she likes to call herself a seeker. “I like to know about the life and teachings of such spiritual leaders. I keep reading about them and try to follow those teaching in my behaviour.”
