In a sweet gesture, they have sent their blessings and a special set of silver jewellery all the way to the UK for little Archie

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, were blessed with a baby boy, social media has been flooded with images of the royal baby. Congratulations and sweet messages have been pouring in from all over the world since Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born. Mumbai’s famed dabbawallas are the latest to join the well-wishers’ list. In a sweet gesture, they have sent their blessings and a special set of silver jewellery all the way to the UK for little Archie.

Subash Talekar, president of Mumbai Dabbawala Association, said that Prince Charles is their friend and has become a grandfather, so they too have become grandfathers and according to Maharashtrian culture they have sent gifts to the newborn.

Courtesy to their friendship with the royals over the years, the dabbawalas have celebrated almost every major event that has taken place in the royal family. Their relationship with the British royal family dates back to 2003 when Prince Charles visited Mumbai and their special friendship grew and the dabbawalas even attended Charles’ second wedding.
