Come back Tony!

Come back Tony!

This year Avenger: Endgame marked the end of an era by bidding an emotional farewell to Tony Stark (Iron Man) who heroically sacrificed himself to defeat Thanos once and for all.  Now, some fans want to see that sacrifice undone and as expected they are now petitioning Marvel to bring him back. A new petition has popped up on change.org that wants to see Iron Man brought back to life. The reasoning is that someone who meant so much to so many and was so willing to sacrifice himself deserves to see his daughter grow up.

Started by user Méline LOISEAU about a month ago on change.org is a petition asking Marvel to bring Tony back to life. The text argues that Stark, after everything he’s been through, ‘deserves to live and see his daughter grow up’ and those that look up to him ‘are totally lost’ now that he’s gone. The petition has garnered more than 18,000 signatures.
Robert Downey Jr, who played Iron Man, aka Tony Stark, recently announced the launch of a new organisation committed to using advanced technologies for the good of the environment. Downey Jr used his part of the opening keynote for Amazon’s Re:Mars conference in Las Vegas held on Tuesday evening to announce the launch of a new organisation — The Footprint Coalition, to be officially launched by April of 2020. “Between robotics and nanotechnology, we could clean up the planet significantly, if not totally, in 10 years,” Downey Jr said, relaying that he had been given these insights a few weeks back by a roundtable of experts.

The announcement came at the end of a 20 minute freewheeling talk about AI, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Downey Jr’s own career and the evolution of his Tony Stark character, which featured cameos from Amazon’s AI assistant Alexa and Matt Damon, who joined the talk via video.

While the number of petitioners continue to grow, demanding the character to be reprised again, the actor’s act of planning to give back to society by attempting to protect the environment, gives fan all the more reasons to seen him again saving the world onscreen too.
