“The musical team of the film kept the essence of the song intact without exploiting the song and honouring it to best of their abilities,” says a source.

One of the main highlights of versatile actor and filmmaker Guru Dutt’s cult classic film Pyaasa was the song Yeh Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaye Toh Kya Hai sung by Mohd Rafi. The song is recreated by the makers, Yoodle Films for their upcoming film Noblemen starring Kunal Kapoor and Ali Haji in central characters.

Noblemen directed by Vandana Kataria, centres around bullying in schools. It revolves around a boy, struggling with his adolescent years, terrorised by a gang of bullies in a posh boarding school, setting forth a chain of events that lead to loss of life and innocence.

The recreated version of the song Yeh Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaye is composed by Shri Sriram and KC Loy and sung by Suraj Jagan. The makers of the film recently released the teaser of the film and the song is being played in the backdrop.

“The musical team of the film kept the essence of the song intact without exploiting the song and honouring it to best of their abilities,” says a source.

Speaking about it, the director Vandana said, “It’s an iconic song and seemed to fit our film and the present times very aptly. It’s darker in its thematic, has fast instrumentation, the lyrics have been changed to suit the film.”

Siddharth Anand Kumar, VP, Films and TV, Saregama agrees and further elaborates, “Yeh duniya agar mil bhi jaaye has a timeless quality to it. It is emblematic of the sheer worthlessness of times we inhabit — one that resonates with the situation the protagonists face in the film.”
