All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s (AISSMS) College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Pune is organising its annual three-day international intercollegiate hospitality competition event — Atithya 2019. In its 11th year now, the festival is scheduled  to take place between February 6 and 8. More than 30 hospitality schools from India and abroad will participate in 12 competitions in core hotel operation areas.
 
This event enjoys a huge support from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) as well as Pune Hoteliers Association. This year’s theme is ‘Global Desi’, which is all about giving a local twist to the global cuisine. Malojiraje Chhatrapati, honorable secretary of AISSMS, firmly believes that such activities are better than classroom teaching to hone the talent in students. 

As part of the event, the Awards Night witnesses hoteliers interacting with the student community every year. It is an evening of fun and a page-turner after three days of intense work. The hospitality industry appreciates the efforts taken by the college in creating such a huge platform for budding hospitality professionals. The jury panel features some of the industry professionals.
 
This year, AISSMS College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Pune has organised an international seminar on ‘Emerging Careers in Niche Hospitality’ where eminent speakers like Tarun Thakral, Amy Shroff, Sajjani Nair, Aniruddha Patil, Umesh Iyar and John Killen will share their valuable knowledge. 

Sharing her thoughts on the event, college principal Dr Sonali Jadhav said, “Atithya provides a platform for students to come together and compete with each other. This year, we have an international team participating too, which will help them meet competitors from another part of the globe. The best talent gets recognised during these three days.”
