What a start to the week? Taylor Swift just released the music video for her new single You Need to Calm Down, which features tonnes of celebrities, whose names were flashed in the teaser early last week. Right from Ryan Reynolds to Ellen DeGeneres, Karamo Brown to Antoni Porowski, Adam Lambert to Chester Lokhart, Billy Porter to RuPaul, you have almost all the known faces out there.
But what came as a surprise was a cameo from Taylor’s former frenemy-turned-friend-again Katy Perry. The two hugged at the end of the video, with Katy dressed like a hamburger like she was during Met Gala, for those looking for past Easter egg hints of this, and Taylor dressed like French fries.
Taylor and Katy’s feud has spanned several years, ending last week when the pair shared a picture of some cookies with “peace at last’ written on the plate. Katy tagged Taylor in the post and captioned it “feels good”, while Taylor commented with 13 heart emojis, which happens to be Taylor’s lucky number.
After the video debuted, they both shared screenshots of the video on their social media accounts showing them hugging. Katy wrote “This meal is BEEF-free” in her caption, while Taylor wrote “A happy meal”.
The video has convinced fans that there could be a possible Taylor-Katy collaboration in terms of a song on Taylor’s newest album Lover which reportedly has 16 additional songs.
