The wait is finally over. The Great Kabab Factory at Radisson Blu Hotel Pune Kharadi has reopened its doors to patrons. The refurbished restaurant now offers a fine dining experience with a refreshed menu inspired from the cuisine of the erstwhile North West Frontier province.
The interiors are done up in warm and rustic lighting and also features a private dining area. The open kitchen set up is another plus point; it allows guests to enjoy a live cookout and watch the chef cook mouthwatering dishes.
Masterchef Zameer Ahmad at The Great Kabab Factory, who has curated and brought together the scrumptious dishes, makes sure that not only the quality and taste are top grade but the food is also visually delightful.
Every table has four dips — tomato, mint, yoghurt mixed with nuts and a tamarind chutney — and they go well with every kebab that is served here. For those who are not okay with spicy food can take a helping of the fruits like pineapple and watermelon which are served as part of the salad.
Any kebab platter is incomplete without Galouti Kebab and at The Great Kabab Factory, it is the chef’s signature dish which is cooked to perfection and served with Ulte Tawe Ka Paratha. The spices and the ground meat go hand in hand and melt in your mouth as soon as you take a bite. It tastes best with the mint chutney which takes the richness of the Galouti Kebab to a whole new level.
If you’re looking for a protein kick which is not only tasty but looks amazing, try the Angare Chooze and the Ajwaini Prawns. The smoky flavour of the Angare Chooze is perfect. The taste of roasted ajwain adds a robust flavour to the prawns which is cooked to perfection giving it a light and crunchy feel.
While dining at the restaurant there is no way one can miss out on the delicious chaats of Delhi, and the Aloo Chaat at this Pune restaurant will transport you to the alleys of Delhi where one of the best chaats are available. The taste of the chutney, the sev, the puri and the small diced potatoes make the perfect combination and give a burst of flavours as soon as you take a bite.
You could be a fan of Paneer Tikka but try the Kashmiri Phalon Ki Chaat, a tandoori chaat made with apple and pineapple at The Great Kabab Factory and you will know why we are insisting you to dig into it. The fruits are caramelised in the tandoor which gives them a sweet and spicy flavour. This is one of the many dishes that one must definitely not miss out on.
If you do not enjoy having pumpkin, this restaurant is going to change your notion with their Pumpkin Topped with Peanuts. The dish which has pumpkin tikki is crispy and soft and is flavoured beautifully with just the right amount of spices.
After all the starters and taste of the delicious kebabs still lingering in your mouth, the server will present you with a Chuski (ice lolly) to clean the palate and get you ready for the main course which is nothing than a royal experience.
There is no way that you go to the restaurant and miss out on the Dal Factory which is their signature Dal Makhani. Ahmad says their secret is that the Dal is cooked for several hours because of which it gets its thick density.
“No Mughal cuisine is complete without Biryani,” says Ahmad, and true to his words, the Biryani is delicious. The Biryani served here is the Lucknowi one which is not oily and, most importantly, the meat is well marinated with the spices and the rice cooked to perfection which has an enticing aroma to it.
