Aruna Irani makes a comeback on television

Veteran actress Aruna Irani is set to make a comeback on television with Zee TV’s prime time fiction show Bhootu. The show has been entertaining audiences through the endearing story of a friendly, child ghost Pihu (Arshiya Mukherjee). In recent episodes, audiences have witnessed an interesting drama unfold between the show’s negative protagonists, Mohini (Shivangi Verma) and Bobby (Tushar Khanna). To add a twist to the tale, the show is all set to welcome a new character — Dadi, which will be essayed by Aruna Irani.

Crafted along the lines of Ratna Pathak Shah’s clean and sharp-looking character from the film Khoobsurat, Aruna’s presence will bring out some fun and mischievousness in Pihu’s life.
“Dadi is a vibrant, witty old woman with shades of grey. She is Vikram’s (Kapil Nirmal) mother and is completely against his relationship with Anindita (Akanksha Chamola). Thus she leaves no stone unturned to create rifts between the two. Unhappy about Dadi’s behaviour, Pihu (Arshiya Mukherjee) starts to dislike her,” says a source close to the show.

Speaking about her entry, Aruna said, “I will be playing the character of Vikram’s mother in the show, who is not only extremely witty, but also has some malicious instincts. She attempts to wreak havoc in Vikram and Anindita’s life with the motive to keep them apart. Working on television gives me immense amount of pleasure and I am all excited for my stint on Bhootu. I hope that the viewers will like me in this new avatar.”
