All set for Bollywood!

Be it the recent example of 2.0 where Akshay Kumar’s menacing acting earned him high praises alongside Rajinikanth who played the lead, or the endearing praises Dulquer Salmaan received for his debut in Bollywood with Karwaan. We look at some actors and filmmakers from the south who will make their debut in Bollywood this year.
It is highly speculated that Allu Arjun will make his Bollywood debut with the cricket drama ’83, based on the real story of the World Cup squad led by Kapil Dev.
Malayalam actor Tony Luke will be seen sharing screen space with Taapsee as her love interest in the upcoming thriller titled Badla which is slated to release on March 8. Tony made his debut in films with Malayalam film Oozham and later found popularity for his role as the main antagonist in Malayalam film Sakhavu. He also has to his credit the title of being one of the first Indian male models to find representation by an international agency.
The actress is a known name in the south film business and is best known for her work in the National Award-winning period film Paradesi. Vedhika will make her Bollywood bebut opposite Emraan Hashmi in the film The Body which is being directed by Jeethu Jospeh.
Amala Paul has done an array of successful south films and now will make her debut opposite Arjun Rampal in an untitled film to be directed by Naresh Malhotra
Apart from Sonam Kapoor, Regina Cassandra plays a pivotal role in the upcoming film Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. Regina has worked in many south films including the acclaimed Maanagaram.
A multi award-winning director, Indrajit Lankesh introduced Deepika Padukone to the industry with his hit film Aishwarya. Now this Karanataka State award-winning director is helming the Shakeela Biopic, which has Richa Chadha playing the role of the adult film star who became a phenomenon in the late ’90s in the south film business.
Deva made a cult classic in Telugu cinema, Prasthanam which became an unlikely success, belonging to the genre of family and political drama. The film was announced for its Hindi remake earlier this year with Sanjay Dutt productions producing the film and Sanjay Dutt, Ali Fazal leading the cast. The film is being directed by Deva himself who makes his Hindi film debut with this.
