Assam-based Bishal Sharma was recently announced the winner of Super Dancer Chapter 2 on Sony TV. He was won the title of Dance Ka Kal by judges Shilpa Shetty, Geeta Kapur and Anurag Basu. The 12-year-old dancer was competing with Akash Thapa (Dehradun), Vaishnavi Prajapati (Panipat), and Ritik Diwaker (Kanpur). Bishal received around 12 million votes through live voting via SonyLIV app, making him the winner.
“I am really happy and thrilled to win the title of Dance Ka Kal on Super Dancer Chapter 2. It is truly a dream come true for me and I am grateful to the judges, my choreographer and Sony Entertainment Television for believing in me. It is through their guidance and support that I have been able to achieve this,” said an overwhelmed Bishal.
Ask him who else deserved to win the show if not him and he replies, “Akash Thapa because for the last few months, he was giving such khatarnak (deadly) performances that I thought he will win.”
Bishal, who wooed the nation with his dancing style, said that soon after he was declared the winner, his friends called him and asked him ‘if he has actually won’. He is also excited about the fact that people from his native place are still celebrating his win. “I have been told that people from my village are crying and shocked over my win. They are still bursting crackers. They can’t believe that a boy from their neighbourhood has actually won Super Dancer Chapter 2,” says Bishal who belongs to Jorhat in Assam.
Apart from dance, Bishal also loves super heroes because they help people in distress. “They help people in need.” Who are the super heroes in his life? “My parents, two sisters and Vaibhav sir,” he answers.
What apart from dancing does Bishal enjoy? “I love bothering my sisters, doing masti with them. I also try building robots but because I am weak in studies I am unable to do so. But after going back home, I intend to study harder.”
Bishal dreams of becoming a well-known dancer and choreographer. “I want to be a dance teacher,” he signs off.
