Sidhant Gupta, who played the role of Kunj Sarna in Zee TV’s popular show Tashan-E-Ishq, will be seen romancing Aditi Rao Hydari in Omung Kumar’s Bhoomi. The Sanjay Dutt comeback is a revenge drama and Sidhant says that he has a special role. “I kind of bring freshness and romantic angle to the film. Though it’s a special role but it’s a good one,” he says the while promoting the film, adding that the character he plays with be relatable to everyone.
Bhoomi, which also stars Sharad Kelkar, Veer Aryan and others, is releasing on September 22.
Ask him how he would sum up his experience working with Sanjay Dutt, who plays the protaganist in the film, and Sidhant replies, “I have grown up watching his films. I don’t know how old I was when I watched his first film. I think it’s a big thing for me to share screen space with him. When I met him I realised that he has a different kind of aura. Before the beginning of the shoot, I was anxious about working with him because I wanted to give my best but when we starting shooting he made me very comfortable. He encouraged me to do my beast, which means a lot because you need that kind of inspiration. Honestly, he doesn’t need any praises but he is a great human being.” As for his leading lady, Sidhant calls Aditi sweet and says, “She is a very good actor and it was nice sharing screen with her.”
Bhoomi isn’t Sidhant’s first Bollywood project, he was part of Badmashiyaan, which released in 2015. But the actor says that he considers Bhoomi as his first step towards mainstream cinema. “I am sharing screen space with an actor who has done 180 films, so this is my debut into commercial cinema. What I have done in my past is a different story because it wasn’t an established film. I am taking one step at a time. I have also done a reality show and daily soap. With Bhoomi, I am part of a big film,” he says, adding, “I am growing with each project I do and one thing will lead to another.”
The actor says that he has been working on himself. “I wanted to do justice to the role I play. I love acting and there is nothing that makes me more happy. I am growing in life and not many people get to bag a role in a good film,” he adds.
Apart from Sidhant, Sushant Singh Rajput, Gautam Rode, Gurmeet Choudhary, Jay Bhanushali and many others are part of the film. The actor says that the film industry is welcoming TV actors. As for the two mediums, he says, “Films gives clarity but TV is big. I have no problem doing TV but I want to do films as of now.”
