After getting positive response at the box-office and from critics, Vikram Padnis’ Hrudayantar, has been officially selected at the Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival. The film, which stars Mukta Barve, Subodh Bhave and Sonali Khare, will be making its International premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (2017) in August.
Says a source close to the film, “The film has set a new benchmark in the Marathi cinema scene. The cast and crew were ecstatic once they got to know that the emotional drama has got another international selection and their joy was boundless. The debut filmmaker decided to surprise his team with an eventful declaration. The news was met with a shock and excitement.”
At the thought of representing Indian cinema at foreign film festivals with two international selections, Vikram says, “I’m overwhelmed with the response Hrudayantar has received. It has been officially selected at the Melbourne film festival and now at the 7th Edition of the Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival. I don’t know whether I was prepared for this. I knew Hrudayantar had touched a chord in people’s life and it would be well accepted.
The entire team including Subodh Bhave, Mukta Barve, Sonali Khare, Amit Khedekar, my two little girls, my music director, everybody is shocked with the kind of response the film is garnering and the kind of appreciation people have given it. I feel Hrudayantar is blessed to receive two film festival selections in the first week of its release.”
A Young Berry Entertainment, Imtiaz Khatri and Vikram Phadnis Productions in association with Toabh Entertainment, Hrudayantar released on July 7.
