‘Dhunn Badalke Toh Dekho’, say Vidya Balan and Abha Singh

Vidya Balan has added a new feather in her hat by becoming a radio jockey for BIG FM 92.7 with the show Dhunn Badalke Toh Dekho. When asked why she chose to become an RJ, Vidya said, “After Lage Raho Munna Bhai and Tumhari Sulu, people started telling me that I should consider the option of becoming an RJ as my voice suited the role. Everybody advised me to do radio but I thought ‘what will I do?’ since radio jockeys are so good these days. I never tried it but the idea of Dhunn Badalke Toh Dekho was so phenomenal and close to my heart that I could not say no. I love to talk. If I start talking, I won’t stop.”

She added that when people talk on topics, they start understanding the problems or matters more clearly. “When you talk to your friend, you start to understand your relationship with them and you begin to understand yourself too. In this show, I’ll talk to many people and we will discuss on topics like body shaming, child sexual abuse and so on. So I thought what better way to make people just think.”

She however added that she is not here to change the world. “I am just saying Dhunn Badalke Toh Dekho,” Vidya said.

Apart from Vidya, bureaucrat, advocate and social activist  Abha Singh will be a part of show where she will provide information to the discussion which will help the caller. Says Singh, “I have always believed in speaking for the right and against the wrong. When I was approached for this show, the only factor to say yes was the fact that I could help women listeners with right guidance.I believe that silence and ignorance are the biggest reasons  behind these women’s suffering, and through this show, the aim will be to motivate the listeners to break silence and share their miseries.”
