Popular television pair Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya took away the winner’s trophy on Star Plus’ Nach Baliye Season 8. The two were competing with Sanaya Irani -Mohit Sehgal and Sanam Johar and Abigail Pande, in the finale.
The Ye Hai Mohabbatein actress and her Kavach...Kaali Shaktiyon Se-fame husband had consistently good, positive remarks and votes on the show. But the journey wasn’t all that easy as Divyanka fell sick on the show. The actress couldn’t perform in an episode after she suffered from spondylitis and spasm pain.
During the finale act, their families had flown down to Mumbai to support the duo and the couple believes that their family’s presence has always been lucky for them.
Judged by Sonakshi Sinha, Mohit Suri and Terrence Lewis, the dance reality show had some of the popular jodis from the TV and film world as participants.
Congrats on winning Nach Baliye! How do you plan to celebrate?
Vivek: The feeling is still sinking in. We will be celebrating with our families who are here in Mumbai with us.
Were you confident of winning the trophy?
Vivek: Yes, we wanted to win the trophy but more importantly, we wanted to present good performances before our audience. We wanted to keep challenging ourselves week after week, and so we experimented. We wanted the trophy and we have worked hard towards it.
How much do you attribute your win to your fans who have been supporting you on social media?
Divyanka: Our audience has been with us in this journey, motivating us, voting for us. They are the ones who really kept us going. They have brought this trophy home and we feel the trophy belongs truly to all the ‘Divekians’ out there.
Sanaya Irani and Mohit Sehgal were equally supported by their fans. Do you think that the competition was tough?
Divyanka: All the jodis in the finale had strong support from their fans; each jodi had a beautiful journey from the beginning to the end. However, the show is based on voting, so the power lies with the audience.
What has been your takeaway from the show?
Divyanka: Nach Baliye has cemented our relationship further and taken it forward by three years! We have gotten to know each other so much better in these last three months. We both are hoping to continue with dance in the future as it’s become an essential part of our lives. We will also continue spending more ‘quality’ time with each other, so that we are able to create many more such beautiful memories in the future.
